Why I’d love to be your dog’s personal wedding photographer

This week, I’m in Park City, Utah, celebrating my good friend Susan’s wedding. It’s been 18 months in the making, and I’ve been looking forward to it for a long time.
When she first started planning, she asked me the big question:
“Amanda, do you photograph weddings?”
My answer?
“No. UNLESS your dog is going to be a key part of your ceremony!”
That’s when I held out hope that her sweet pups, Ellie and Kipper, would be making an appearance. I even sent her the most fantastic floral collars ideas from Etsy. But alas, the dogs didn’t make the guest list. Not even a flower pup or ring bearer moment. 😢
What I Do Want to Photograph at Weddings
I should clarify: I’m not interested in being the main wedding photographer. That’s a whole art and science on its own, and I know so many talented people who do it beautifully.
But if there’s a dog involved? I want in.
My dream role is to be your dog’s photographer and handler on the big day. I’ll be the one making sure they’re calm, comfy, and camera-ready—capturing all the sweet, goofy, and heartfelt moments between your dog and your people. From getting-ready snuggles to aisle walks and post-ceremony kisses, I’ll make sure your pup is fully celebrated as part of the story.
Yes, Your Dog Can Be Your Witness
Fun fact for my fellow Coloradans: Did you know your dog can actually legally be your witness at your wedding?
Colorado is one of the only states that allows self-solemnizing marriages, which means you don’t need an officiant or witness… but you can have your dog “sign” with a paw print. 🐾
There’s a great article in Rocky Mountain Bride called
Yes, Your Dog Can Be Your Wedding Witness in Colorado if you want all the details. It’s a real thing—and such a sweet way to include your dog in a truly meaningful moment.
Planning a Wedding with Dogs?
If you or someone you love is getting married and planning to include your dog, I’d love to be part of it.
Whether your pup is walking down the aisle, posing for family portraits, or just hanging out at the reception, I can help make sure they’re both looked after and beautifully photographed.
Let’s chat—because your dog deserves a seat at the wedding (and probably some cake, too).
P.S. I’m always happy to chat ideas and logistics if you’re wondering how to include your dog in your day. Whether it’s outfits, timing, or tips to keep them calm and happy, I’ve got you. Reach out!
