If you love spending time on the water and want to bring your pup along for the ride, you’re in luck! Rocky Mountain Paddleboarding is hosting several early evening events this summer designed for people and their dogs.
I’m thrilled to be the official photographer at the Cherry Creek events!
Two of my talented pet photographer friends will be covering the Lakewood and Longmont locations at the same time. So no matter where you go, there will be someone capturing all the fun moments of you and your dog on the water.
Here are the event dates to mark on your calendar:
📅 Wednesday, June 18th – 5:30-7:00 PM 📅 Wednesday, July 16th – 5:30-7:00 PM 📅 Tuesday, August 26th – 5:30-7:00 PM
“Pups are encouraged to join the adventure! Bring your four-legged first mate on any of our watercraft and let them enjoy the ride (just don’t let them steer!) If they need a little extra safety, we’ve got dog lifejackets available on a first-come, first-served basis.”
Sounds like a blast, right? I only wishmy dog, Gunnar, loved water.
Last summer, we were invited to a Labrador Retriever party (he is, after all, 8% Lab). There was a small pool full of Labs racing around and diving in—but not Gunnar. He preferred hanging out on the sidelines, socializing with the dogs who needed a break from the splashing.
Maybe I’ll keep exposing him to water, but for now, he’s definitely not a fan. If you have any tips for getting him to enjoy water more, please send them.
Full disclosure—I’ve never been on a paddleboard myself! Maybe this is the year I give it a try. Who knows? Maybe I’ll be the one learning alongside all the adventurous pups. And maybe Gunnar will be willing to give it a try.
Hope to see you and your dog on the water this summer! 🐶🏄♀️
